TARGET AUDIENCE
Millennials and younger, aged 18 to 38 women artists, business women, engineers, and leaders that enjoy attending networking events and speaking events like TED Talks.
BACKGROUND
Built around and inspired by Maya Angelou, who believed in the importance of finding your voice. The mission is to empower women to grow creative, purposeful lives and careers in a diverse and changing world while challenging their beliefs and providing them with an environment to network with other confident and vibrant women.
DESIGN PROBLEM
To design a logo, stationary, and in doing so brand the Power of Women Symposium Event. The question becomes how to veer away from previous iterations of symposiums for something fresh. It must stand apart from TED Talk conferences with its inviting yet serious nature. The message and speakers must reach women of all ages.
DESIGN SOLUTION
The solution came in the form of bright purple and orange to embolden women to be embody courage to be themselves. The subsequent advertising is simple and emotive throughout while remaining informative. Maya Angelou is reintroduced in various forms throughout the business branding as well as color scheme while the ultimate symposium expands to include and focus on all women.
The Power of Women Symposium is executed in both digital and print form. With both magazine and poster prints as well as Instagram stories and mobile sites for attendees to navigate.
